WMD's in the Baptistry??

Just checking my website log files and came across this entry: wdcsun26.usdoj.gov

Hmmm . . . now why would the Department of Justice be checking up on my blog? Or on the FBC Youth Choir?

It's a little more scary than the hits from India & China (or even Canada). At least I get money offers from them.

Not in OUR house

I cannot catch that silly mouse
The one that's staying in our house

Not with a chip
Not with a dip
Not with some cheese
Or even green peas

I cannot catch him, no I can't
As I go on this silly rant

But then I thought of something new
Something new for him to chew

A peach, a peach, I thought at last
And put it in the trap quite fast
And left it there overnight
And went to bed to wait till light

And in the morn I took a peek
Hoping after one whole week
That I could catch that silly mouse
The one that wanders in our house

Lo and behold, I yelled hooray
And now had come that fateful day
For in the cupboard that was a wreck
The trap did break his little neck

And squished like goo just out of reach
Was that little orange piece of peach
It had done it's job and now that mouse
Was now no longer inside our house

He lay at the bottom of the trash
No longer acting quite so brash
But I hope that it won't be the case
That he told his friends about our place

And now we have no silly mouse
We are mouse-free inside our house

Too much fun

Ok, so embedding videos is now my new thing. Don't worry, it'll wear off once I find another toy to play with. Plus I have to give #2 his camera back (it's the only one we have that takes video). Here's the BHS boys and girls at today's (9/14) meet in Hampden. #1 picked up a 10th place.

Middle school mayhem

It's #2's turn as he makes his XC debut at the Penobscot Valley MS XC meet, hosted by All Saints Catholic school at Saxl Park. Ben runs the 1.58 mi course in 13:03, good for 19th place. Here's a short video of his finish.

And in case you missed him, here he is captured in time:

. . . or does it?

It's not like being Baptist qualifies as a debilitating medical condition.

Hot time in Waterville

It was definitely a 3-H day in Waterville - hazy, hot & humid. You'd think we were in New Jersey. Tough day to run a 5k as it was pushing 90 degrees but the Bangor boys and girls struggled through it. My good friends Hillary, Jenny and Julie hung tough with Hil having the highest finish. My #1 son said he had an off day but still finished 12th overall. The kind meet directors set up a large sprinkler for the runners to cool off after and during the race. The girls took full advantage.

Here's #1 in the pack at about 1 mile.

You can eventually find the full results here.

It's a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad, mad, world!

Only 1 week into school and it's as if summer never happened. Already have a XC meet, open house, choir rehearsal and a redone bathroom under our belts. We did a reverse labor day and spent the weekend painting and other such household things with #1 and his sweet & cute girlfriend. At least my SO and I can head down to Waterville tomorrow to watch #1 and a few other FBC kids at their next meet. However, it should be a nice warm day and I won't be the one running a 5k. You go Bangor!!

It's the most wonderful time of the year . . .

With school beginning tomorrow lots of parents are singing that special song above. Me? I kinda like having the kids around, although #1 spends most of the time with his cute & sweet girlfriend. But we provide the food so he eventually comes around. #2 hangs with his friends and receives more phone calls then anyone but as long as we provide the broadband to play WOW he's good around the house too. If fact we like the kids so much that me and my good friend (and choir co-director) Jim had a picnic for our favorite choir. We're starting to cool down up here in the northeast but everyone braved the water in the pool one more time.
