Here is the open 800m run at the EMITL Championships on 2/9/2008. Stephen finishes 2nd. Video is a little shaky as I was getting used to a borrowed camera. You can see video of Stephen's anchor leg of the 4x800 and the 4x800 awards on my youtube channel.

Bangor High won it's 4th consecutive EMITL championship last Sat., thanks to (from left) Stephen, Riley and Shea who finished 2nd, 1st and 6th, respectively, in the 800m run, scoring a total of 19 points, turning a 10-pt deficit into a 9-pt advantage. All 3 should be running the 800 at the State Championships next week. Read the story in the Bangor Daily News here.

The #1 son is heading to Cambridge next year to arguably the #1 school. Stephen was admitted, early action, to MIT last Saturday. Congrats from your proud dad!!!

That's the last of my XC videos. What will I do? However, Indoor track starts in a few weekss. Guess I'll just have to ramble about other subjects for awhile.

Cohen XC finishes 2nd at Championships

The William S. Cohen XC team put it all together at the Inland XC Middle School Championships on 10/17 and surprised everyone with a 2nd place finish. Ben led the Eagles with an 18th place finish and Cohen had a miniscule pack time (amount of time between the 1st and 5th runner) of 54 seconds. Here's Ben in the first half mile of the course and towards the end.

#2 is reaching peak performance with one meet left as he went from the obscurity of a #5 runner for Cohen to #1 in one meet, finishing in front of his teammates with a personal best time. Check out his rocket start below.

Here's the start of a Penobscot Valley League middle school XC meet. Crazy start with 70+ boys fighting for position. Tough course. #2 finished 21st n 14:05 and 4th for Cohen.
